Leather Clutch

During this 2-hour workshop, you will design and create your own leather clutch!  You will cut out your custom pattern, choose from a variety of leather textures and colors and set decorative closures using rivets.  During the class you will use how to use an awl and a rotary hole punch.

All supplies are provided.  Evening sips and nibbles will be served!  For adults and youth ages 14+ accompanied by an adult.

About KK

KK Sample earned her Masters in Merchandise Product Development from FIDM in San Francisco, where she also studied jewelry making, fiber arts, printmaking, and garment construction. KK is a full-time designer and in the midst of launching her second apparel brand. She was trained by haute couture designers in NYC on how to present fashion-week worthy merchandise. Since she began instructing for Sewn, WorkshopSF, and The Makery, KK has become a multidisciplinary instructor, teaching sewing, screen printing, knitting, succulent terrarium making, jewelry making. After apprenticing under Jenn Conner of Pennyroyal Leather, KK is unleashing a curriculum of leather working projects including custom clutches, sunglass cases, cuffs, jewelry, accessories!

Kokedama Hanging Garden

Enjoy getting dirty in this hands-on workshop as you learn the Japanese art of kokedama, the cultivation of a plant encased in a hanging ball of moss.

Pointed Pen Calligraphy

Learn the basics of modern pointed pen calligraphy. Start with an exploration of proper techniques, including how to correctly hold an oblique calligraphy pen and practice basic strokes to gain an understanding of how pressure affects ink flow.

Woven Beaded Rings

Create simple patterns in traditional flat weave peyote stitch and learn finishing techniques for these colorful, graphic rings.
